The purpose of the Matthew C. Perry Elementary School
Parent Teacher Organization is:
- to promote friendly relations
and mutual understanding between parents and teachers
- to cooperate with school
authorities in order to advance educational, artistic, and athletic
interests, social development and well-being of the students
- to act as a forum for
parents views and attitutdes toward topics of mutual interst to
parents and the school
- to provide reciprocal
opportunities for school administration to disseminate information
to the parents regarding school policies and curriculum
Membership in the PTO is open to parents, faculty,
staff and interested community members; membership dues are $5.00 per
year.
You will find members of the PTO around base raising
funds to support the school. The PTO helps fund such things as schoolwide
events and celebrations, informational parent programs, the Reading
Counts program, and resources for our students. In addition, the PTO
has funded
visits
to our school
from
professional,
award-winning authors and illustrators.
The PTO hosts monthly meetings and a number of other
social and educational programs throughout the year.
